Derrick’s maternal grandfather was Rafael Carlos “Ralph” Monasterio y Gardiner (or Rafael Carlos Gardiner Monasterio in Filipino, the son of Agustín Monasterio y Pozo and Ana Beatriz Gardiner). Agustín was a Spanish physician, from Zamora, Zamora.
